I guess the answer to the title question would probably be, who doesn’t? Every girl wants to feel pretty and certain things add up to feeling prettier – smoother skin, brighter eyes, and, naturally, softer hair.
In addition to eating pretty, there are a few additional things you can do to make your hair more touchable. Many soft hair solutions involve getting a little dirty, or at least letting your hair get dirty. Hair models are known to go days or sometimes weeks without shampooing, because the scalp’s natural oils are great moisturizers and help keep hair healthy. So, as yucky as some might find this advice, skipping a day or two between washes, even if only occasionally, can help you take advantage of those natural moisturizers. Also, not washing often leads to not styling, and giving your hair a break from your hair dryer/curling iron/straightening iron is an added, healthy-hair bonus.
Regular brushing can also help stimulate some of that oil production and help distribute those moisturizers along your strands. But if skipping a shampoo or increasing oil production just isn’t your thing, there are some things you can do in the shower.
Never underestimate the power of conditioner. In addition to your daily slather, using a weekly deep conditioner can really help your hair stay soft. Even if you don’t have a special treatment, leaving your regular conditioner on for a few minutes before rinsing is an easy way to give your locks some TLC.
And if you’re just looking for a miracle shampoo that will magically transform your hair from frazzled to unbelievably soft, I’ve got some good news for you. Pantene’s new Solutions line of products offers a Frizzy to Smooth shampoo and conditioner that are simply amazing. They smell great, and have honestly made my hair ridiculously soft.
Rather obnoxiously, I’ve gone around asking friends and family members to touch my hair, and they all agree that it is unusually soft.
Not bad for a bottle of drugstore shampoo.
