While at the salon getting my haircut yesterday I couldn’t help but notice my hairdresser’s immaculately pedicured toenails, in the most perfectly chic deep red. I told her I loved the color and she thanked me and tried to remember the color. She knew it was a deep maroon-y OPI shade but couldn’t remember the name. I told her I was heading to Walgreens immediately following the appointment to try to find it, and that’s exactly what I did.
I spotted the color on the shelf tag immediately: Got the Blues for Red. But the corresponding bottle looked way too red to be what I wanted. But it was the only shade that even came close, so I bought it, hoping it would look darker when applied.
Great news: it did! The polish still looked too red when I first brushed it on, but two coats later it dried into the beautiful deep color that I was looking for. So if you’re like me and just have to have this pretty dark polish for early fall, don’t let the bottle fool you. Got the Blues for Red is just right.
