Do you wear (or know of any type of primer) to wear under lip gloss? I live in the South and during the summer months, it seems to look like my lips have melted after about an hour…what would you suggest?
Since you’re my favorite beauty guru, I need some advice about foundation! I have hormonal acne which is the lamest most embarrassing thing ever, and while I can usually keep it in check, there are days when I really am scrambling to get a few hours of clear-appearing skin (job interview or something) and I can’t find a foundation that works for me! Any suggestions for someone with trouble-skin and a fair complexion? 🙂
Yes! I absolutely swear by Make Up For Ever HD High Definition Foundation, and was able to find an exact match for my impossible-to-match fair skin (I use 110 – Pink Porcelain). It covers all varieties of bumps and blemishes, and is meant to stand up to HD photography, so… it’s hard to beat! When I am really going for a flawless face (like, on my wedding day) I double up, first using BB cream and then using this. I described that technique in this post!
I’m trying to edge out of my comfort zone with some red lipstick. Any tips for how to pick the right shade before buying 14 different colors that don’t look quite right?
Well the basic idea is that if your skin has cool (pink) undertones you should stick to blue-based colors, and if you have warm (yellow) undertones, you’ll look better in more orangey reds. But that’s not all that helpful. I just went and did an inventory of my go-to red lip products, and this is what I noticed: I prefer slightly darker, more wine-colored reds. Not full-on purple, definitely still in the red family, but certainly dark red. Also, I stay away from traditional lipstick and go with products that can be layered on for more or less pigment, depending on how bold I want to go. My favorite reds: Fresh Sugar Rose Tinted Lip Treatment (this is probably the truest red0, Bare Minerals Marvelous Moxie Lip Gloss in Dare Devil, L’Oreal Infallible Lip Gloss in Sangria, and Clinique Almost Lipstick in Black Honey – the most wine-colored and my current favorite!

I have yet to find a non-gel nail polish that lasts more than 12 hours on my nails. Any suggestions on polish or top coat that minimizes chipping?
Seche Vite Dry Fast Top Coat is by FAR the best top coat I’ve ever used – it’ll protect your manicure and make your nails shine like glass!
Awesomeness, thanks!
